When I started planning my Great Gift Guide for the 2010 Holiday Season, one company that I really wanted to feature and work with was Schleich.

I have always been a huge fan of their products! Schleich is the maker of the most amazingly detailed figures that can be used for collecting and for play. You have probably seen their figures at stores including Target, Toys r' Us, and even Tractor Supply. Schleich has been creating quality figures that both kids and adults love for 75 years!

Giganotosaurus!

About Giganotosaurus from the Schleich website...

Potentially more powerful than T-Rex, Giganotosaurus was about forty feet long, weighing in at eight tons. Featuring small spikes and broad spots on its back, this dinosaur was very distinct in appearance. Feeding on plant feeders, Giganotosaurus had three claws at the end of his short arms. Scientists suspect that Giganotosaurus could sprint swiftly thanks to its slim tail which was held up, unlike other dinosaurs.

Fun Facts: Giganotosaurus had a banana-sized brain.

My boys have always loved dinosaurs and when the Giganotosaurus came in the mail I had to grab him up and take his pictures because I would be fighting 3 pair of hands for this INCREDIBLE figure.

 Giganotosaurus is one of the largest figures from Schleich we have ever owned. He is about 13 inches long from head to the tip of his tail and 8 inches tall. Thats 1:40 scale of the real deal! My boys were immediately impressed by his size and the intricate detail put into this figure...as was I.

The detail put into this figure, and every Schleich figure for that matter is AMAZING. This inspires imagination in play.

Just take a look at all these teeth and each of Giganotosaurus spikes!

Here is a close up of the texture and coloring of his skin.

The design and details in Schleich's figures set them above all the rest on the market! The quality of their figures cannot be beat.

Giganotosaurus is recommended for children ages 3 and up.
