Guidecraft Pirate Treasure Chest Toy Box- Review and Giveaway

My youngest son is a huge little Pirate fan, so when we had the opportunity to try some products from Guidecraft, The Pirate Collection was our first pick! My son loves his Guidecraft Rocking Pirate Ship (Be sure to enter our giveaway for this too!) and when he first saw the Pirate Treasure Chest Toy Box he was so excited!

"Treasure" he screamed "I love it!"

We laughed so hard, but weren't suprised by his reaction because my husband and I think the Guidecraft Treasure Chest Toy Box is pretty cool too!

At Guidecraft.com you can find all kinds of amazing quality children's furniture like the Pirate Treasure Chest Toy Box. Guidecraft has been making amazing products for over 40 years and their quality craftmanship and expertise show in every product.

The Guidecraft Pirate Treasure Chest came in a huge rectangular cardboard box.When we opened the box to assemble the toy box we could see that everything was packaged securely for safe shipping. Each piece is held in place with styrofoam to keep the pieces from being scratched. When your product arrives from Guidecraft you can expect it to arrive in excellent shape.

My husband pulled out each of the pieces of the treasure chest so that everything was laid out and ready to assemble. The lid of the treasure chest came put together, but the rest of the chest had to be assembled. He then opened the box of hardware and pulled out the direction sheet. Yes, this husband of mine does follow directions!  

The Guidecraft Pirate Treasure Chest was really easy to assemble and the directions were simple to follow. It did take a bit longer than the Rocking Pirate Ship because there were more pieces and screws and bolts, but within about 30 minutes the Treasure Chest was ready to go!

The Guidecraft Pirate Treasure Chest is a wonderful toy box! I love all the details that Guidecraft included when designing this product. From the shape of the Treasure Chest to the gold paint edging it looks so realistic to what your child would imagine a Treasure Chest to look like. I love the painted scene on the front of the toy box. This image of a pirate ship on the water really matches well with the other Guidecraft Pirate Collection Products. On both of the sides of the pirate ship there are treasure maps and the pirate skull and cross bones. I just adore the whole look!

 

The Guidecraft Treasure Chest toy box is made of solid wood and is very durable as all of Guidecraft products are. There is  a piece of painted wood that can slip into the center to seperate the toy box into two halves. At a weight of 55 pounds this toy box is sturdy. The approximate size of the Pirate Treasure Chest is Dimensions: 20" Height x 20" Width x 32.5 Length, which means all of your little Matey's toys and treasures will fit right inside. The Treasure Chest features safety supports that protect your children's hands from being slammed and the design also prevents pinched fingers.

Having a treasure chest that is a toy box is a great idea and has even helped to encourage my little pirate to put his toys away. I tell him that he needs to keep his "Treasure" safe and he starts to pick up his toys and put them away! Its perfect!

My son absolutely loves his Guidecraft Pirate Treasure Chest as well as his Rocking Pirate Ship and I love to watch him imagine and play out fun pirate adventures with his Guidecraft products!

I love to find great new toys for my family! Since we've started our new approach to living a more Eco-concious lifestyle I have really taken an interest in Green Toys. This is how I came across the Global Green Pals.

 I was lucky enough to receive one of their dolls, Recycle Kyle for review.

As soon as the package arrived from Global Green Pals my youngest son immediately took to Kyle! He had a new buddy that he just couldn't put down! I was impressed by the quality of Recycle Kyle and the amount of detail put into my son's new found friend! Recycle Kyle has wild yarn hair that your child can style. He is wearing a t-shirt that is tan in color and also carries a tan messenger bag. On both the bag and the t-shirt you will notice the universal sign for recycling. Kyle wears green short with "GGP" stitched onto the right pant leg. He also wears Green and White Shoes.

Recycle Kyle's facial features are sewn on and his eyes and smile are welcoming. You can see the care that went into making and designing this doll.

Tied to Recycle Kyles right Wrist is a large tag printed with Soy ink on Recycled Paper. It shows a picture of Recycle Kyle's animated image on the front and inside it has some background information on Kyle. The tag also has some great ideas for kids on things they can do to Save the Planet. I think that the Global Green Pals are the perfect tool to aid in teaching children about living Green and helping to take care of our planet and I also love that they are made with quality natural and recycled materials! EMOTES Review and Giveaway

Being a Mom of 3 boys I am always looking for the hottest toys and games. One day while searching the internet I came across Emotes.com... Since I thought the Emotes were pretty cool I decided to introduce my boys to them and see what they thought. I showed them Emotes.com where there were games to play and even a way to design your own Emote character. There are comics to read and videos to watch too! Emotes.com is a fully interactive website and my kids really love playing with all the different features available on the site! It was exciting to see my kids talking to each other about different emotions and feelings with each other as well as myself and my husband. I could see new lines of communication emerging before my eyes!

 

 

After I saw how much my boys liked the website, I showed them the Emotes toys and books I had received and they were THRILLED! They were telling me which Emotes they most related to and I thought it was really cool that they were sharing their feelings!

The Strider PreBike Review and Giveaway

My boys all love being outdoors! My older boys really love riding their bikes, but my youngest was left out. At 2 1/2 years old, our options were limited. He was too big for the little toddler ride on toys, but too young for a regular bike. It made me sad because he was left out of all the fun his brothers were having! That was until we got a Strider PreBike! Now he can ride and feel like a big boy and have fun with his big brothers!

The SAD Truth...

I had some really exciting things planned for BizziMommi's Blog this week, but as you can see... Things just didn't work out. WHY?

The Hard Drive on my computer went BAD!!!!

Yup, your read it right. I lost so many pictures and documents I had written for upcoming reviews and giveaways, and now I have had to start from scratch...

So, that's the Sad, SAD truth.

But, the good news is... I am up and running on a new computer so you can expect to see some of those exciting things coming this weekend and through next week too! We've got more reviews of fabulous products coming as well as AMAZING giveaways! Starting tonight, I'll be busy getting everything ready to go!

There's a lot to look forward to so keep checking back, and as always thanks for supporting my site!

Earth Day Recap- Announcing our Winners!

Yesterday was Earth Day...did you do something wonderful to help the planet? Every little thing we do adds up to make a big difference in this world.

This year I have pledged to quit using plastic grocery bags and instead use reusable shopping bags every time I go to the store. Honestly, this has been something I had wanted to do for a while and it is been a really easy transition! I know it might seem like a small contribution to our planet, but with a family of five we are saving a lot of plastic from making it's way to the landfill. If more families like mine decided to go the reusable route, just think of all the great things that could happen as a result! Less omissions from making the bags, less plastics in the landfill, petroleum and other natural resources would be saved... it really adds up!
